Granted, off-season acquirements, Mario Manningham and Randy Moss, have been outshined by San Francisco's other wide receivers, most notably Michael Crabtree. However, Manningham has put up respectable numbers this year, considering: 42 grabs for 449 yards and one touchdown. To be honest, he was brought in to help the 49ers receiving corps. Too bad Crabtree burst forth this season, limiting any 'help' the corps needed. Not only that, but the whole quarterback situation did change the dynamic of the wide receivers.
None of this matters now, however, as Mario Manningham is out for the whole of the playoffs, and San Francisco's final game of the regular season. Considering his stats with Kaepernick at the helm (6 catches for 37 yards...the last four games) it doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of the playbooks. However, Randy Moss will be getting the No. 2 receiver spot, due to other's injuries.
